IMPORTANT – The Rappy has recently been sold, and I am not sure about the current camping arrangements. Please CHECK before going if camping is currently available.
Halfway between Casino and Grafton, and just 7 km to the west of the Summerland Way, you’ll find the Commercial Hotel @ Rappville in Northern NSW.
It’s certainly worth the short detour for a visit, especially to stay overnight (for free) in the large grassed area behind the pub!
Hosts Peter and Jayne certainly make you feel welcome, and Peter can keep you occupied for quite a while chatting about the history of this charming pub. Make sure you check out the flood piccies 🙂
Nice meals are available, along with cheap beer. And it’s only $4 for a hot shower! The pub is closed Mondays, but just go around the back and set up camp. Power is also available if you need that too.
I’ve spent a few nights here, and despite the dodgy phone reception, it’s one of my favourite places on the North Coast of NSW.
